Who we are

Aman Vedika is a registered, Non Profit Service Society working with an aim to build a peaceful, just and humane society in collaboration with government and civil society organisations with a focus on welfare and protection of children, women and shelter-less people.

Aman Vedika started as a part of Aman Biradari, a nationwide people’s campaign for a secular, peaceful, just and humane society launched in India in 2005. In the process, Aman Vedika has taken up wide range of initiatives and collaborated with many credible civil society platforms/organizations. Collaboration with government and Civil society networks, organizations and individuals has been a key approach in all direct interventions of Aman Vedika.

Our process

IDENTIFYING CHILDREN ON THE STREETS

Our team of social mobilizers identifies vulnerable children who are on streets; abandoned, or homeless with or without family, care and protection being forced into bonded labor, rag-picking, manual scavenging, abused, addicted and get them to our open, voluntary, non-custodial Homes which provide them Comprehensive Care including nutritious food, education, health care and protection.

SUPPORTING HOME MANAGEMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS

To help them complete Children's health check-up and produce before the Children Welfare Committee.

BRIDGE COURSE (RSTC- RESIDENTIAL SPECIAL TRAINING CENTRE) & MAINSTREAM

Many children have never been to school or are drop outs. They are given required training, coaching and mainstreamed to age appropriate classes. With an aim of overall development of the child, they are involved in co-curricular activities, vocational training and skill development to ensure job placement.

SUPPORTS THE HOME MANAGEMENT IN DEVELOPING

child specific care plans, progress reports and career plans are made, health and education monitored periodically and each child’s development is documented.

How you can get involved

Volunteer to teach/train /tutor/mentor to children in these homes. Individual Child Education Sponsorships/Donations (both cash or in kind) are accepted
